Gratitude

I harvested my lavender last week. It was an opportunity that had me feeling deep gratitude.

Gratitude is a powerful emotion. It can transform our lives and bring us closer to the beauty of the present moment.

Lavender, with its delicate purple flowers and intoxicating fragrance, has long been cherished for its calming and therapeutic properties. It symbolizes tranquility, healing and renewal. I’ve been growing a patch in my garden for several years now. I’ve gifted bouquets to friends and used it to flavour sugar. I’ve also put it in vases throughout the house. Last week, as I bent to gently cut the stems, I couldn’t help but become fully immersed in the process – inhaling the sweet heady aroma, feeling the earth under my feet, hearing the buzzing of the bees and feeling the warmth of the sun on my back. I could see an appreciate the beauty around me and I felt such gratitude for the abundance that nature provides.

I was so grateful to have such beauty around me. The more I looked, the more I began to notice other small joys and blessings that surround me in my everyday life. I am so very grateful for them.

Gratitude is a way of being, a lens through which to view the world and a source of inspiration to seek and appreciate the beauty in each moment. I remind myself of this often.

I brought the flowers inside, wrapped them in bundles and dried them. Soon, I will be making myself a wreath to enjoy all year and to remind myself of all that I have to be grateful for. I am blessed.

This coming Friday, on July 14th, I will be at the BEAU Market. I hope to see you there, Friend. Visit Les Amis du Village Beaurepaire for more info.

Your support of my small business and the fact that you read my blogs also fill me with gratitude – for you. Thank you.
