I have to keep looking forward.
It feels as though I’ve been stuck in place for months, just coping with everything that has been coming at us every day, putting up with all the noise that comes with it all. The Pandemic and it’s experts, the election to the South of us and it’s pundits, the situation in schools and hospitals and our politicians.
I find myself just wanting to turn it all off and sit in silence. Perhaps I don’t do that often enough.
When the world gets loud and ugly and hard, I seek the safety of my home. Usually, I find myself in my kitchen. Today though, I found a purpose outdoors. Almost can’t do much in the garden these days though … almost. With Griffin as my shadow and a small shovel as my tool, I set out to plant my daffodils. It’s late in the season to do but it was the one job I still hadn’t gotten to. This was the day. The earth was cold and damp but not yet frozen. It was easy quick work. I planted the bulbs in groups of three or five, some here … others there. I spread them throughout three of my gardens. What fun! It made me so happy to think of their brilliant yellow faces peeking out of the gardens come Spring. I did have to fend off some doggie kisses though as I was so low to the ground!
There is light at the end of the tunnel, thankfully. There are vaccines in sight. And though some of the noise may not stop, we will get to that better place. We will be able to move more freely again, to see our loved ones up close, invite them into our homes. We’ll be able to give them a hug, perhaps even a squeeze for good measure.
So, I continue to look forward. Good things are coming.
And oh! I do have some good news! Michael and I will be participating in an outdoor Christmas Market in the Beaurepaire Village on Saturday, December 5th! Yes – for real! I will send out more info but for now, please mark it in your calendars! Save the date! Keep those shopping bags in the car!
As always, you can visit the Shop to pre-order from either one of us (especially if you’d like something personalized out of wood).
I wanted to mention as well that I have added the link to the A&P Crabapple Jelly being sold at the Church’s Fall Fair. (You can read all about that here.) I do hope you visit their page and browse through the various items on sale. All proceeds go to these Montreal charities.
I hope that you too can continue to look forward, friend. Leave me a comment below to let me know what keeps you going these days.
Wishing you happiness and peace in everything you do.
