Feeling hopeful

Mr Griffin and I were up early this morning. Feeling hopeful, we ventured out for a walk.
The weather has been inclement for a while now; the cold, the wind, the snow and ice, … brr! It hasn’t been my cup of tea. But the sky was blue and the air was crisp, not frigid, so off we set to explore the neighborhood after yesterday’s big snow.

It has been a long winter. Not an easy one, either. We’ve managed to get through a great part of the school year though, making adjustments and “pivots” in our planning as the regulations changed. We made it to Christmas, came back after another lockdown, and kept chugging along. Now, as I write this, we are sprinting headlong towards March Break…

And I am hopeful.
The snow will melt. The earth will thaw. Life will renew itself again.
I have no control over any of it but I know it will be so. I look forward to a future of green grass, blooming flowers and buzzing bees.
Under all the snow and ice, dormant seeds are waiting for the sun’s gaze to wake them. Tenacious buds grip frozen branches, waiting for the moment they can unfurl their fleeting beauty.
And behind masks of all shapes and colors, smiles are at the ready to dazzle us once more.

Change is coming. It may not be easy and without it’s challenges, but it gallops towards us every day. Can you feel it? Do you hear it? It comes with Hope and Faith that all will be right again.

So, to the crunch of my boots in the snow, with my dog at my side, I adjust my wooly scarf and continue walking.

Take a drive out to the Marché Artisanal d’Ormstown  when you are able. You can also visit my Shop to satisfy your cravings. I’ll soon be adding Seville Orange Marmalade again – a dear friend just gifted us a couple of dozen Seville oranges!
